The making of the film - "The bubbling reefs"
Why a film ? Well the simple explanation is: The reef deserves it !
5 years ago I made a "pilot film" about the Hirsholm islets and the Bubbling reefs, the taking of the film was done only over 2 days, and although the film was okay, I have always felt that the area deserves a film that truly put the fantastic nature scenic into the right perspective.
So now here I am, last year I sold my company, and now I am ready to fulfill my dream, and spend the money and the time necessary to accomplish the task I have given myself.
The goal of the film, is to give people who cannot dive and see the reefs themselves, a chance to experience the truly awesome nature and wildlife scenery.
I am fully aware of the fact, that in order to declare something "Exotic", it normally needs to been on the other side of the planet. But thats not the truth, and I will show residents in the Northern part of Europe, that "exotic" nature is right on our own doorstep ! - that been said, I know that the film will show a remarkable underwater "seascape" thats truly exotic for people only used to diving in tropical waters, so perhaps after all it is true that you need to travel a long way to experience something spectacular.
I am looking forward to next 2 years. The schedule is to make as many trips to the bubbling reefs as possible or necessary to shot the material. Editing will start in august 2006, and the film is hopefully finished no later than 15th of september 2006, which is the deadline for participating in the Worlds largest underwater film festival in Antibes, France.
How the film will be distributed, is still to be decided. I will no let money dictate the making of the film, so the film rights are not sold, and will not be sold prior to finishing the project, it shall be the "reefs film".
